Spain supports Vietnam in relationship with EU

(VOVworld) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Pham Binh Minh and visiting Spanish Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation Jose Manuel Garcia Margallo held talks on Wednesday and agreed to increase communication and delegation exchanges at all levels, while optimizing existing cooperation channels, such as political consultations at the deputy foreign minister level and the joint committee on development cooperation.

They promised to create favorable conditions for businesses of both countries to meet and establish links in infrastructure, energy, environment, and tourism.

They agreed to maintain their close coordination, particularly those in the framework of the United Nations, ASEAN-EU and Asia-Europe Meeting (ASEM). Vietnam pledged to help Spain expand its relations with ASEAN. Margallo said Spain supports stronger relations between Vietnam and the EU, approval of the Partnership and Cooperation Agreement, swift recognition of Vietnam’s full market economy status, and rapid completion of a Vietnam-EU Free Trade Agreement.
