(VOVworld) – Sri Lanka’s Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe and his wife have concluded a 3-day official visit to Vietnam at the invitation of Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc.

During his visit, the Sri Lankan PM Ranil held talks with PM Phuc, greeted Party General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong, met with President Tran Dai Quang and National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, and attended the Vietnam-Sri Lanka Investment Forum. At the meetings, both sides praised the development of traditional friendship and all-around cooperation between the two countries over the past 47 years, and agreed upon measures to bring the relations to a higher level. They also underlined the importance of maintaining peace and stability in the East Sea, ensuring navigation, aviation, and trade freedom, and handling disputes through peaceful means in line with international law.
