Delegates discussed historical elements in bilateral relations, political cooperation, the model of Russia-Vietnam comprehensive strategic partnership, prospects for bilateral cooperation, and bilateral relations in the context of international relationships in Southeast Asia. Dmitri Mosiakov, Director of the Southeast Asia-Australia-Oceania Research Institute, said: “This symposium is important because it collects information about Vietnam in order to release appropriate analysis and evaluations. Russia is facing sanctions from Western countries and the visit by the leader of the Communist Party of Vietnam demonstrates Vietnam’s valuable support for Russia.”
