The 5th festival of Then singing, Tinh musical instrument opens in Tuyen Quang

th festival of Then singing, Tinh musical instrument of Tay, Nung, Thai ethnic minorities opened in Tuyen Quang province on Friday.
Organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the festival attracted the participation of 500 artists from 14 cities and provinces. Addressing the opening ceremony, the Chairman of Tuyen Quang Provincial People’s Committee Pham Minh Huan said:“The festival is a vivid evidence of the Party, State, ministries, sectors, and localities’ attention to the preservation and promotion of intangible cultural heritages of ethnic minorities. Then cultural heritage of the Tay, Nung, Thai ethnic minorities has been included in the national dossier for submission to UNESCO for recognition as an intangible cultural heritage of the humanity”.
In addition to Then singing performances, the festival also features exhibitions and workshops highlighting the significance of the heritage and ways to preserve and promote it.
