(VOVworld) - The central province of Thua Thien-Hue celebrated the 40^th anniversary of its liberation with a ceremony on Thursday. In his speech, Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyen Van Cao recalled the victory on March 26, 1975, which was a milestone in the Hue-Da Nang campaign that, together with the Tay Nguyen (Central Highlands) and Ho Chi Minh campaigns, freed South Vietnam in 1975 and led to national reunification. He said:“The provincial Party Committee, government, and people are determined to uphold the heroic tradition of the past and apply it to today’s revolutionary movements, to contribute to local socio-economic development. We’ll do our utmost to gain more accomplishments in economics, culture, defence and security.
