(VOVworld) – North Korea and South Korea exchanged fire across their border near Paju city in Gyeonggi province on Sunday.

The demilitarised zone is one of the most heavily fortified borders in the world.

A South Korean patrol saw North Korean troops approaching the demarcation line, prompting the South Korean soldiers to fire warning shots and the North Korean troops returned the fire. The two sides exchanged gunfire for 10 minutes. There were no reports of injuries.
