The new measure would require full cooperation with the investigation of the apparent attack in the rebel-held town of Khan Sheikhun, Rycroft said on Twitter.

The same day, Colonel General Sergey Rudskoy, chief of the Russian General Staff’s operations department, said the Syrian government is willing to let international experts examine its military base for signs of chemical weapons. He added that rebel groups are disseminating poisonous chemical in the city of Khan Shaykhun, Jira airport, eastern Gouta, and western Aleppo, to falsely accuse the Syrian government of using chemical weapons and provoke more attacks from the US.

Previously, during a telephone conversation with Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said the US’s air attack on a Syrian air base was unacceptable, adding that he will request an international investigation about the Idlib chemical attack on April 4th, which killed at least 87 people.
