UK general election 2015 kicks off - ảnh 1

(VOVworld) - UK held its 2015 parliament election on Thursday. 650 MPs will be selected from 3,900 candidates in 650 constituencies in England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Polling stations all around the UK were open from 7a.m to 10 p.m. Whichever party gains the most seats will most likely lead the government for the next 5 years and its leader will become the Prime Minister.
UK political leaders crisscrossed the country during the election campaign. Prime Minister David Cameron, hoping to continue leading the UK, highlighted his Conservative Party’s success in decreasing the budget deficit to one third what it was in 2010, steering the UK out of an economic recession, and creating millions of jobs.
Labor Party leader Ed Miliband vowed to improve workers’ living standard and narrow the income gap if he wins the election. Liberal Democrats leader Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg pledged to exert every effort to maintain UK stability and said he believes his party will win enough votes to play a pivotal role in any post-election negotiations.
