(VOVworld)- UN Secretary General Ban Ki Moon held a press conference in Hanoi on Saturday after attending the inauguration of the Green One UN House in Vietnam.

The UN Chief expressed his delight at his return to Vietnam and praised the Vietnamese government’s strong commitment to the UN’s reform. He said climate change response and the promotion of human rights and fundamental freedom will be discussed during his visit to Vietnam. Mr. Ban praised Vietnam’s cooperation in implementing the One UN Initiative saying Vietnam was the vanguard in this program. In response to questions about the East Sea issue, the UN Chief said the UN closely followed developments in the East Sea and called on parties concerned to exercise restraint to prevent escalation of tension and solve disputes through dialogues.
