(VOVworld) – The United Nations Security Council on Thursday condemned North Korea’s latest missile launch and warned of new sanctions for its provocative acts.

In a statement approved by all UN members, the Security Council demanded that North Korea not conduct any more nuclear tests, which violate previous Security Council resolutions. The statement said North Korea’s illegal nuclear program has escalated tensions inside and outside the region. The Security Council said it will monitor the situation closely and mentioned detailed sanctions against North Korea.

North Korea launched a new missile on Sunday and says it intends to conduct a 6^th test this month.
