The World Food Programme (WFP) reported that the goods are for those who can have been left without sufficient access to food supplies.

The Libya’s Red Crescent Society said last month the violence and insecurity in Libya have led to massive population displacements and an increase in humanitarian needs. The figure hasn’t included hundreds of thousands of refugees in other countries, particularly in neghbouring countries of Tunisia and Egypt.

Statistics by the Libya’s Red Crescent Society have shown that some 126,000 people have been displaced from Tripoli, the largest number of cities and towns in Libya. Benghazi comes a close second with some 109,000 displaced. To help deal with the problem, last July the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR) initiated the Libya Protection Working Group (PWG) for UN agencies and NGOs to coordinate protection activities and responses to the humanitarian needs inside Libya.
