Lori Citti, JHU Director of Study Abroad, said the new program responds to increasing interest in Cuba among American scholars and students. It is part of the Consortium for Advanced Studies Abroad (CASA) launched by John Hopkins University, Columbia University, Cornell University, Dartmouth College, Northwestern University, and the University of Pennsylvania. During their studies in Cuba, American students will enrol in Spanish language classes, cultural studies courses, and exchange programs with Cuban students.
