(VOVworld) - US Vice President Mike Pence reassured European Union officials in Brussels on Monday that the Trump administration will maintain and foster their partnership.

Pence was in Europe from Saturday to Monday to soothe allies unnerved by US President Donald Trump’s unorthodox statements on Russia and NATO.

Pence said it was a pleasure to talk with Federica Mogherini, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, to seek stronger bilateral ties. He also met with leaders of the European Council, the European Committee, and NATO.
