(VOVworld) – Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro called on members of the governing United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) to be united prior to the parliamentary elections to be held on June 28.

Speaking on national TV, President Maduro stressed the victory of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela’s initial voting on April 19. He said 60 percent of the registered candidates are women. According to the latest poll, 42 percent of Venezuelans support the ruling party, twice the number who support the Table of Democratic Unity (MUD) party.
