Vietnam, Bhutan mark 5th anniversary of diplomatic ties

(VOVworld) – Vietnam and Bhutan share many similarities in culture, history, and religion, which is a solid foundation for bilateral relations to develop, Vietnamese ambassador to India and Bhutan Ton Sinh Thanh said at a ceremony on Sunday to mark the 5th anniversary of Vietnam-Bhutan diplomatic ties.

Mr. Thanh said there is much room for Vietnam and Bhutan to develop cooperation in various fields. He expressed his hope that Vietnam and Bhutan will have more exchanges of delegations, enhance cooperation in trade, culture, tourism, and support each other in regional and international forums.

Bhutan ambassador to India Vetsop Namgye said Bhutan admires Vietnam for its struggles for national liberation, as well as renewal achievements. He said Vietnam and Bhutan share great potential to develop tourism and agriculture and hoped that the two countries will boost cooperation in trade and investment.
