Vietnam, China boost cooperation among border provinces

(VOVworld) -  Vietnam consistently attaches importance to consolidating and strengthening its friendly neighborliness and comprehensive cooperation with China.

President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan made the statement at a reception in Hanoi on Wednesday for the visiting Vice Chairman of the Guangxi Zhuang Antonymous Region, Lan Tianli.

Nhan said this is the Vietnamese government’s consistent guideline and one of its priorities in foreign policy, adding that Vietnamese leaders always support mutually beneficially collaboration between the two countries’ localities, particularly those sharing a border.

He said that with their great potential for economic cooperation both sides should upgrade border gates, boost trade and tourism, and intensify cultural exchanges between Guangxi and the four Vietnamese border provinces.

Nhan asked his guest to conduct more activities to tighten relations between Guangxi and Vietnam’s localities, especially in economics, trade, education, people-to-people diplomacy, and building a border of peace, friendship and development.

Lan said the Guangxi Government wishes to increase cooperation with Vietnamese ministries and localities through education to nurture the China-Vietnam comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership.

Being adjacent to Vietnam, Guangxi also wants to tighten ties with Vietnam’s border provinces in economics and education to benefit both countries.
