Vietnam, China sign security and national defense cooperative documents

(VOVworld) – Chinese Minister of Public Security Guo Shengkun is on a visit to Vietnam from April 16-17 at the invitation of the Vietnamese Minister of Public Security, General Tran Dai Quang.

During their talks on Thursday the two Ministers said the visit was a milestone in bilateral cooperation. The two leaders signed a plan to implement the Memorandum of Understanding of the 4th Ministerial Meeting on preventing and combating crime. The document specifies that both countries will continually share information in crime prevention and combating to ensure security in each country, foil sabotage schemes by hostile, reactionary forces and criminals, and guarantee safety for their leaders and bilateral diplomatic activities.

Vietnamese Defense Minister Phung Quang Thanh held talks with Minister Guo Shengkun on bilateral and global issues. They raised ideas to enhance cooperation between the two ministries. The two ministers signed an agreement on building a border cooperative mechanism between the Vietnamese Defense Ministry and the Chinese Public Security Ministry.
