(VOVworld) – President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan visited the Council of Patriotic Buddhist Monks in Soc Trong province on Saturday to celebrate the traditional New Year Chol Chnam Thmay of the Khmer people.

Mr. Nhan praised the Buddhist dignitaries’ contributions local socio-economic development and national solidarity. He said 92 pagodas in Soc Trang province should play their role in building a new lifestyle for locals.

The same day, the President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front also met with nearly 100 delegates from grassroots organizations and residential areas in Soc Trang.
