Vietnam, Laos consolidate mutual trust and comprehensive cooperation

(VOVworld)- Deputy Defence Minister Phan Van Giang has reaffirmed that the Vietnamese army will continue close and effective cooperation with the Lao army to help strengthen the two countries’ special relations. Giang, who is also Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People’s Army, made the remark at a meeting with Lao Prime Minister Thongloun Sisoulith on Wednesday as part of his 3-day visit to Laos.

Deputy Defense Minister Giang noted that Vietnam gives top priority to the Vietnam-Laos friendship, special solidarity, and comprehensive cooperation. Prime Minister Sisoulith said that the Lao Government will create the best possible conditions for the two armies to foster ties in all aspects. During talks the same day, General Giang and Suvone Leuangbounmy, Lao Deputy Defence Minister and Chief of the General Staff of the Lao People’s Army, agreed to solidify mutual trust and comprehensive cooperation to ensure peace and political and social stability for national development and defeating plots to ruin bilateral relations.
