(VOVworld) - Vietnam was the third largest export market of the Republic of Korea (RoK) in the first quarter of this year, following China and the US.  The Institute for International Trade of the RoK International Trade Association reported this week that despite the slow growth of global trade, Vietnam’s growth has been notable. A free trade agreement between the RoK and Vietnam was recently signed and is expected to become effective this year. It’s predicted that RoK exports to Vietnam will continue to increase.

Park Ji-Eun, a researcher at the Institute, said a rapidly opening market supported by an effective FTA will increase RoK exports to Vietnam significantly and make Vietnam one of the RoK’s top export markets.
