The statement was made at a working session between the Vietnamese Government Committee for Ethnic Minority Affairs led by Minister-Chairman Giang Seo Phu and the South African Ministry of Cooperative Governance and Traditional Affairs. Minister Pravin Gordhan described the visit as an important contribution to strengthening the traditional friendship and cooperation between the two countries. He praised Vietnam’s achievements in poverty reduction, particularly its efforts in supporting and caring for people belonging to ethnic minority groups.

Minister Phu said the visit aims to exchange information and learn from South Africa’s experience in preserving and optimising cultural values.
