Vietnam, South Korea pledge broader strategic partnership

(VOVworld) – As part of his ongoing visit to South Korea, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee Nguyen Thien Nhan on Thursday held talks with South Korea’s Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn. He also toured a hi-tech farm and learned about the technology of the Korea Telecom smart city.

On Wednesday, during his meeting with National Assembly Speaker Chung Sye-kyun, Nhan introduced the major achievements of Vietnam’s 30-year renewal process. Nhan asked for South Korea’s support in infrastructure development and cyber-security personnel training and ensuring favorable conditions for the 130,000 Vietnamese people living in South Korea. Speaker Chung thanked Vietnam for facilitating South Korean businesses, making South Korea the top investor in Vietnam in 2015.

Also on Wednesday, Nhan met with the President of the South Korea-Vietnam Friendship Association.
