Vietnam, Sri Lanka enhance anti-crime cooperation

(VOVworld) – Vietnam hopes to tighten cooperation with Sri Lanka in fighting crimes, especially those involving economics, e-commerce, and credit.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc received Secretary of the Sri Lankan Ministry of Law and Order, Nanda Mallawaarachchi.

Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc made the remark at Monday reception in Hanoi for Secretary of the Sri Lankan Ministry of Law and Order, Nanda Mallawaarachchi. Phuc asked for closer bilateral collaboration to ensure security and safety for high-ranking delegations, protect legitimate rights and interests of the two peoples, and mutual support in international forums. Nanda Mallawaarachchi said he will do his utmost to bring the relations between the two ministries into a new height, particularly in crime prevention.

Earlier, Deputy Minister of Public Security, Senior Lieutenant General Dang Van Hieu, held talks with the Sri Lankan high-ranking delegation. Hieu asked for effectively realizing dialogue mechanisms and the biennial ministerial conference on security.
