Vietnam, Thailand strengthen cooperation

In his address, President Quang thanked Thailand for providing Vietnam with 100,000 USD to overcome the consequences of drought and salt water intrusion. He urged both countries to increase cooperation in sustainable management and the utilization of the resources of the lower Mekong river. He asked the two sides to effectively implement the joint statement on the results of the 3rd Vietnam-Thailand Joint Cabinet Meeting and the Action Program on implementing the Vietnam-Thailand Strategic Partnership in the 2014-2018 term and as well as other cooperative agreements. Quang promised to facilitate Thai businesses with investing in tourism, garments, textiles, and food production. He said he hoped the two sides would promote deputy-ministerial dialogues between Ministries of Defense and Public Security.
