(VOVworld) - National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung has received the visiting UN Deputy Secretary General Michel Sidibe while he thanked the UN for efficient cooperation and support in Vietnam’s HIV/AIDS control. Chairman Hung said the Law on HIV/AIDS Prevention and Control has paved the way for drastic legal measures to prevent the disease while ensuring equal access to social welfare and health services. He called for further UN support in Vietnam’s triple 90% targets, namely to enable most HIV carrier be aware of their contraction status, be able to receive treatment protocol and minimise the virus density. UN Deputy Chief Sidibe welcomed the initiative, praising Vietnam as the first country to set up such a target.
