(VOVworld) - Vietnam and Spain celebrated the 35th anniversary of bilateral diplomatic ties yesterday in Hanoi. Deputy Foreign Minister Nguyen Phuong Nga spoke highly of the steady development of the Vietnam-Spain relationship and the establishment of a bilateral strategic partnership during the visit to Spain by President Nguyen Minh Triet in 2009. Ms Nga said “Over the past 35 years, there have been big changes in the region and the world. But the friendship between our 2 countries continues to flourish. This is a valuable asset that both nations need to preserve and develop, laying a firm foundation for cooperative ties”.

Spain is a major trading partner of Vietnam with two-way trade growing 15 to 20% annually.
