(VOVwiorld) – Vietnamese Deputy Defense Minister, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Chi Vinh said that Vietnam respects the Shangri-la Dialogue and actively contributes recommendations to the Dialogue.

At a meeting on Friday with Tim Huxley, Executive Director of the International Institute for Strategic Studies – Asia, Vinh said the Dialogue will always a platform for countries to express their views and share initiatives on arising challenges and opportunities.
Vinh said Vietnam will attend the Dialogue in May and contribute ideas for peace, cooperation, and development in the region and the world. 17 Defense Ministers and equivalent ranking officials have accepted to attend the Shangri-la Dialogue.
