Vietnam determined to remove interest groups from policy making

(VOVworld) – Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc insisted on removing interest groups from affecting policymaking at a government meeting in Hanoi on Thursday.

The meeting aimed to review the documents governing the implementation of the Law on Enterprises and the Investment Law which will take effect on July 1st.

PM Phuc stressed the importance of institution building which will facilitate the people and business and boost economic growth.

He said: “We should resolutely remove interest groups on the policymaking process. We will create favorable conditions for businesses and people to develop production and trading. This is a tough task in law building to replace old regulations.”

On Thursday morning, cabinet members gave opinions to draft laws and ordinances. They include a draft regulating conditions and procedures for establishing duty free shops, warehouses, locations for customs clearance, gathering, checking, and monitoring.
