Vietnam effectively implements Paris Climate Change Agreement

(VOVworld) – The Deputy Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Vo Tuan Nhan, said Vietnam was well aware of the importance of responding to climate change and natural disaster prevention for sustainable development.

He was speaking on Monday at a workshop to review Vietnam’s work in response to climate change. Mr. Nhan said Vietnam has promulgated and implemented a number of strategies and policies on climate change, natural disaster prevention, sustainable development and green growth.

Mr. Pham Van Tan of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment said Vietnam has developed plans and measures to implement the Paris Climate Change Agreement towards 2020 and 2030, focusing on reducing green house gas emissions, implementing commitments to mitigate climate change, and preparing human resources, technology, and finance to move towards a low-carbon economy.
