(VOVworld) - Vietnam attaches great importance to boosting friendship and opportunities for cooperation with the Netherlands, considering it an exemplary cooperative model between Vietnam and a European country.

Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Uong Chu Luu made the statement at a reception in Hanoi on Tuesday for Raymond De Roon, President of the Dutch House Committee on Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation.

To further enhance bilateral ties, Luu proposed each side continue reciprocal visits and increase mutual support at multilateral and international forums. Both nations should strengthen cooperation, utilizing the Netherlands’ strengths such as climate change, water management, agriculture and energy. For his part, Raymond said the warm sentiments between the two peoples laid a firm foundation for promoting cooperation in all fields.

Earlier, the Dutch delegation, led by Raymond, worked with the Vietnamese NA’s Economic Committee delegation, headed by chairman Nguyen Van Giau. The two sides exchanged experiences in administration and customs reform to boost trade cooperation and discussed other socio-economic issues of mutual concern.
