The oil tanker of the Hai Phong Seafood Shipbuilding Joint Stock Company, which carried 5,000 tons of oil and 17 members onboard, left Singapore’s Horizon port last Thursday for Vietnam’s central province of Quang Tri, and then lost contact with its owner.

On Tuesday, the National Committee for Search and Rescue asked the Vietnam Coastal Radio Stations System and the Vietnam Maritime Search and Rescue Coordination Centre to inform regional ships and relevant agencies in Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines, and Singapore, of the incident. The High Command of Marine Police also informed marine forces of the 4 countries and the Asian center for maritime security and counter-piracy of the missing ship.
