Vietnam steps up efforts to fight corruption

(VOVworld) – Recent measures against corruption have proven effective but corruption cases have still been reported, said the National Assembly’s Judicial Committee on Monday. At the Committee’s 14th session on anti-corruption, participants suggested sectors and localities improve state management in the equitization of state-owned enterprises, state-owned economic groups’ divestment in non-core business, bad debt settlement, and credit activities. The delegates emphasized the need to step up the Master Program on Public Administration Reform, especially in the management of land, natural resources, public assets, and personnel, tax, and customs. Authorities were asked to promptly punish corrupt acts and recover property lost through corruption.
