At a reception in Hanoi on Thursday for the Japanese ambassador, Hiroshi Fukada, Mr. Dung reiterated that Vietnam attaches great importance to developing relations with Japan, Vietnam’s top and long-term partner.

The Vietnamese government, ministries, and provinces are ready to cooperate with Japan and boost the comprehensive strategic partnership to make it more efficient in all fields.

Mr Dung said he hopes both sides will maintain exchanges at different levels, especially high-ranking cooperation visits among ministries, sectors, localities, and people-to-people meetings.

He called on Japan to continue ODA support for Vietnam during the 2016 fiscal year focusing on high-quality infrastructure, energy, responses to climate change, drought, and salt intrusion, and assistance in  realizing the action plans for 6 sectors selected for Vietnam’s industrialization strategy, part of the Vietnam-Japan cooperation framework.
