Weightlifter Le Van Cong won a gold medal at the 2014 Asian Para Games and set a new world record in men's weightlifting 49-kilogram division.

(VOVworld) – Vietnam won 7 medals, including 2 golds, on the first day of the 2014 Asian Para Games in Incheon, Republic of Korea. Gold medallist Le Van Cong set a new world record, lifting 181.5 kilograms in men’s weightlifting 49-kilogram division. Vietnam currently ranks 7^th on the medal standing. The team hopes to win 6 – 7 gold medals.
