(VOVworld) – Vietnam won two first prizes at the ASEAN Information and Communication Technology Awards 2015 (AICTA) in Da Nang city on Thursday. The two prize winning products were ‘Da Nang e-Government Platform’ by the Da Nang city Department of Information and Communications in the Public Sector category; and ‘TiengAnh123.com’ by the BeOnline Company in the Digital content category. Vietnamese ICT companies also secured one second prize in the Research and Development category and one third prize in the Private Sector category. 14 other outstanding ICT products were also honored at the ceremony.

The 2015 AICTA was held under the framework of the ongoing 15th ASEAN Telecommunications and Information Technology Ministers Meeting (ASEAN TELMIN 2015). The awards honour ICT products and solutions in six categories - public sector, private sectors, corporate social responsibility, digital content, best start-up company, and R&D.

On Thursday, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on ICT in the next 2 years was signed between ASEAN members and the International Telecommunication Union (ITU). The MoU promotes cooperation in ICT development, expanding information technology infrastructure, narrowing the digital gap, and improving IT application in ASEAN countries.
