Vietnam-Russia diplomatic ties marked in Hanoi

(VOVworld) – The Russian Embassy gave a reception in Hanoi on Friday to mark the 65th anniversary of Vietnam - Russia diplomatic ties.

Addressing the event, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai described the establishment of Vietnam-Russia diplomatic ties 65 years ago as an important milestone in the history of the two countries, considering it a solid foundation for their close friendship and comprehensive cooperation.

He highlighted achievements in the two countries’ all-around cooperation, especially in politics-diplomacy, economics-trade, energy, and defence-security.

Another meeting took place in Hanoi on Friday to mark the 65th anniversary of diplomatic ties between Vietnam and Russia. Dao Trong Thi, President of the Vietnamese-Russian Friendship Association, said that since the two countries established diplomatic ties, the Vietnam-Russia relationship has flourished in all sectors, including politics, economics, trade, investment, energy, petroleum, nuclear power, security, national defense, and education. The two countries share common views on regional and international issues and increased friendly exchanges for the interests of their people. Russian Charge d’Affaires in Vietnam Vladimir Bublikov spoke at the event: "We will keep expanding trade and economic cooperation with Vietnam to increase bilateral trade growth. We’ll also boost cooperation in energy, oil and gas and we hope to sign a Free Trade Agreement between Vietnam and the Customs Union of Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan in the first half of 2015. This agreement is expected to pave the way for bolstering bilateral ties."

Marking this occasion, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai presented the Vietnamese-Russian Friendship Association with the Labor Order, first class, for its contribution to boosting Vietnamese-Russian friendship and cooperation.
