Vietnam’s Party and State leaders pay tribute to Fidel Castro

(VOVworld) – National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan laid a wreath in tribute to Cuban revolutionary leader Fidel Castro at the Jose Marti Memorial in Havana on Tuesday.

Writing in the funeral guestbook, Ms. Ngan expressed the deep sorrow of the Vietnamese Party, State and people at the passing of Fidel Castro, the prominent leader of the Cuban revolution, the great friend, faithful and close comrade and brother of Vietnam. She affirmed that Vietnam will never forget his great contributions to establishing and continuously developing the special brotherhood, comprehensive cooperation, and mutual trust between the two Parties, States and peoples over the past more than half a century. She reiterated Vietnam’s consistent support for the Cuban people’s just revolutionary cause.

Hanoi leaders led by Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Hoang Trung Hai paid respect to Fidel Castro at Cuba’s embassy in Hanoi. Mr. Hai wrote in the condolence book that Hanoi will exert every effort to deepen relations between Vietnam and Cuba as well as between Hanoi and Havana, thus serving the revolutionary cause in each nation. Other Vietnamese officials paying tribute to the Cuban leader included President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Nguyen Thien Nhan and Voice of Vietnam’s Vice President Nguyen Xuan Huy.  Mr. Huy wrote in the condolence book that VOV always honors Fidel Castro and other Cuban leaders and people for their support to VOV to expand its broadcast in Cuba.

In Ho Chi Minh City, Secretary of the municipal Party Committee Dinh La Thang paid homage to Fidel Castro at the Cuban Consulate General.
