Writing contest on Uncle Ho's moral example

(VOVworld) – A writing contest on ‘Studying and following President Ho Chi Minh’s moral example’ encouraged the Party, people, and army to become more aware of the main values of Ho Chi Minh’s ideology and morality.

At an awards ceremony Wednesday, Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc said the contest has helped to repair degradation in political thought, morality, lifestyle, bureaucracy, and corruption. Phuc expressed his hope that media agencies will continue to discover and honour individual and collective role models.First prize went to collaborator Hoang Tien for his article about Le Anh Duong, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People’s Committee of Tan Yen district in the northern province of Bac Giang.
Tien was praised for his keen sense of responsibility and his closeness to people, as well as for his contributions to local socio-economic development. Thuan Huu, Editor-in-chief of the People’s Newspaper and a representative of the organizing board, said:“The articles that received awards reflect life truthfully. Through role models, the entries present lessons on continually striving in life, promoting revolutionary morality, and preventing corruption and negative phenomena.”

The year-long competition attracted more than 700 entries from writers, journalists, researchers, collaborators, and war veterans. Many articles depicted outstanding collectives and individuals studying and following Uncle Ho’s moral example. The organisers selected the 19 best entries to receive awards, with one first prize, three second prizes, five third prizes and 10 consolation prizes.
