Vietnamese Youth has  made great contribution to national construction and defence.  Nguyen Dac Vinh, Secretary of the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union said so while talking to VOV reporter about the achievement of the Youth Year 2011. Mr. Vinh said many activities over the past year including environmental protection, volunteerism and paying debts of gratitude to martyrs have attracted millions of young people to participate in. Besides, the Year of Youth also aims to encourage the young to get involved in socio-economic development and new rural area construction. Mr. Vinh said: "Education will be set as our priority for the coming time. We will focus on educating moral lifestyle especially developing life skills among pupils which will serve as a basic step for the development of the adults. Attention will also be paid to ideological education for the youth to raise their patriotism and responsibility for the nation. It is also essential to renew our organization to match the development of the youth".
