The program “Ho Chi Minh testament- A testament about humans and for the humans” was broadcasts in late August, 2014 to mark the National Day, September 2nd and 45 years implementing President Ho Chi Minh’s testament. VOV journalists had to find a new approach to this topic to inspire listeners while at the same time truly reflecting President Ho Chi Minh’s personality because it’s not a new topic. Do Viet Nga was the one who had the idea and wrote script for this program: “We aimed to seek stories that reflect President Ho Chi Minh’s affection for all social strata because it’s clearly reflected in his testament. We wanted to use true stories in the real life to mirror President Ho Chi Minh’s thought. The President’s teachings reflect his personality”.

6 reporters participated in producing this program. They are Hoang Trung Dung, Do Viet Nga, Vu Ho Diep, Tran Thuy Ngoc, Van Phuong Hoa and Vu Thu Ha. It took them nearly 2 months to find the idea, meet history witnesses and researchers of President Ho Chi Minh testament and then produce this program.

Journalist Tran Thuy Ngoc said:“We had a lot of work to do and we had to give assignments to each member. One must be in charge of several works depending on their strength. We assisted and coordinated with one another very well. We all aimed to make a high quality program for VOV listeners”.
The meetings with history witnesses and those who met President Ho Chi Minh are the most memorable experience and precious awards for VOV journalists. Van Phuong Hoa said:Among many stories about President Ho Chi Minh, it’s difficult for us to select the most moving and interesting story to introduce to listeners. I was so moved to listen to poet Viet Phuong, former Secretary of Prime Minister Pham Van Dong telling stories about President Ho Chi Minh. I could feel his emotion while telling those stories. In our program, those stories received a lot of feedback and sharing from listeners”.

The program also introduced to listeners precious documentary materials including a special statement of the Central Committee of the Vietnamese Labor Party informing President Ho Chi Minh’s death, memoirs of Mr. Vu Ky, who was President Ho Chi Minh’s Secretary from 1945 to 1969, and a tape recording late Party General Secretary Le Duan reading President Ho Chi Minh’s testament in his mourning ceremony in 1969.

As a presenter for the program, Hoang Trung Dung shared with listeners touching emotion and feeling while listening to President Ho Chi Minh’s testament: “It’s difficult for me to express my feeling when listening to that tape. I was so moved that I felt I was there, at the scene, listening to President Ho Chi testament. In discussions with studio guests and listeners, listening to their stories, I could feel their love for President Ho Chi Minh and particularly understood more about his testament”.

Many of them recited poems, many expressed their love for President Ho Chi Minh and many burst to tears while talking. These responses and stories told by our studio guests moved our team. That day, we worked with our true feeling”.
