87th Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day celebrated

(VOVworld) – Hanoi’s municipal leaders yesterday met with 300 representatives from Central press agencies to mark 87th Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day.
The Vice Secretary of Hanoi’s Municipal Party Committee Nguyen Cong Soai stated that Hanoi’s authorities highly appreciate the role the press has played in the capital’s socio-economic development and always enables the press to do their job.
Later the same day, Ho Chi Minh city’s Party Committee officials visited and congratulated journalists and press agencies around the city.
Meanwhile, an exhibition on women journalists from the south of the country was held today at the Southern Women’s Museum in Ho Chi Minh city. Nearly 200 artifacts and photographs depicting journalism at different times were on display. Nguyen Thi Hien Linh is the Museum’s Deputy Director: "The exhibition aims to honor the great contributions made by women to the press over the years. In the early 20th century, the role of women was completely underestimated but now they can express their feeling and aspirations through their writing".
