Mr. Vinh highlighted developments in Vietnam-US relations, especially in economics, trade, and prospects of the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP). While both countries are celebrating the 20th anniversary of the normalization of diplomatic relations, trade and investment relations have been the key momentum for enhancing bilateral ties.
Over the past 2 decades, trade revenues have increased 70 times to 36 billion USD. The US is Vietnam’s largest export market and 7th largest investor in Vietnam with a total capital of 13 billion USD. Ambassador Vinh said Vietnam will work with other countries to soon finalize the TPP negotiation and is committed to strictly implementing the agreement once it’s approved.
