Calling for investment in Central Highlands’ socio-economic development

(VOVworld) – The Heads of Vietnam's overseas diplomatic missions held a meeting on Wednesday with the Steering Board of the Central Highlands and leaders from Dak Lak, Gia Lai, Kon Tum, Dak Nong, and Lam Dong provinces.

Deputy Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son, said the working trip highlighted the socio-economic situation, defense, and security in the Central Highlands.
They will forward the information to the international community and help draw investment to the Central Highlands, particularly in high-tech agriculture and expand export markets for the Central Highlands’ staples such as coffee, cashew nuts, and rubber.
The Central Highlands covers 16% of Vietnam’s area and has a population of 5.6 million people. Its annual average growth rate is 9%. The investment environment has been gradually improved and the provincial competitive index has risen.
