(VOVworld)- A conference to review 10 years of coordination in developing national key economic regions opened in Hanoi on Saturday. Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai, Head of the Steering Committee for the Coordination of National Key Economic Regions chaired the meeting. Over the past ten years, the annual GDP growth rate of the key economic regions is 8.8%, while the total export value is more than 127 billion USD, accounting for nearly 90% of the country’s total. These regions have contributed more than 800 trillion VND to the state budget and attracted 91.3% of Vietnam’s FDI projects and 82% of the total FDI capital. Delegates at the conference introduced several solutions to effectively implement the coordination model in the coming time. Le Dung is Vice Chair of Ca Mau Provincial People’s Committee: “It’s important to develop sufficient policies for key economic regions, which should be different from other provinces. These policies should aim at enabling the provinces to tap their potential”.
