France-Vietnam Business Forum opens during President Hollande’s visit

(VOVworld) – Vietnamese and French business people have discussed marketing opportunities in such area as food, agricultural produce, and healthcare at the France-Vietnam Business Forum. The event was held in Ho Chi Minh City on Wednesday by the French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam. The Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City’s People’s Committee Nguyen Thanh Phong pledged the city’s support for foreign investors. He said: "The city appreciates the organization of today’s business forum and considers this an opportunity for both sides to learn about each other’s interests and devise cooperative plans for the near future. With their existing dynamism and sincerity, I believe that the municipal businesses will be important partners of French businesses.”

Later on Wednesday, Dinh La Thang, the Secretary of Ho Chi Minh City’s Party Committee received visiting French President Francois Hollande. Mr. Thang said he hoped France would continue to maintain its ODA for Vietnam and help Vietnam nurture talented graduates and train officials at various levels. 

President Hollande said France was ready to introduce its best technology to Vietnam and that French will be taught at universities in Ho Chi Minh City because language will help boost mutual understanding between the two peoples.
