IT boosts NGOs’ efficiency to serve the community

(VOVworld) - A seminar entitled “NGO Connection Day” took place in Hanoi on Thursday to demonstrate state-of-the-art IT trends and achievements to help NGOs improve their operations.

Initiated by Microsoft Corporation, the annual “NGO Connection Day” has been held globally since 2005 to raise awareness about technological benefits and how to approach for optimum IT benefits to support non-governmental organizations to settle current world challenges.

In Vietnam NGO activities have generated increasingly positive impacts on socio-economic development.

CEO Microsoft Vietnam Vu Minh Tri: Microsoft crucial investments for NGO community in Vietnam will be used to accelerate the IT deployment, skills and productivity in operation to help the NGO’s IT governance more effectively.

Addressing the event, Vu Tien Loc, chairman of the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said IT has become another great resource to increase competitiveness for individuals, organizations, and businesses.

Loc said: “IT application to social, economic, and trading management is expected to create a revolution in Vietnam’s competitiveness and should be considered by the government, enterprises, and non-governmental and non-profit organizations.”
