Meeting in response to World Population Day

(VOVworld) – A meeting on reproductive health support and family planning for those most vulnerable to natural disasters was held on Friday in Hanoi. The event, held by the Ministry of Health and the United Nations Population Fund, was one of the activities in response to World Population Day, July 11th. In Vietnam, the key measures for effective population and family planning are communication and providing reproductive health care to the people. But overpopulation and reproductive health still remain challenges to Vietnam’s development. Deputy Minister of Health Nguyen Viet Tien said: “At this meeting, the Ministry of Health asked Party and government leaders, local authorities and political organizations to focus on improving the quality of population and pay more attention to the most vulnerable including women at reproductive age, adults and children”.
