At the event in Ha Long city, Quang Ninh province on Monday, Head of the Youth Affairs Department Vu Dang Minh said that the first national report on Vietnamese youth will evaluate the education, employment, and healthcare situation of young people and review related policies to make recommendations to the law-making process.
This is the first time the drafting board has collected opinions from state agencies, localities, and experts for the report, which is scheduled to be released next year. Ritsu Nacken, UNFPA Deputy Representative in Vietnam, said Vietnam has a golden population structure, with people between the ages of 10 and 24 accounting for 40% of the population, the highest rate in its history. This period will last until 2040. She said it was a great opportunity for Vietnam’s socio-economic development by promoting the role of young people.
