Nine VOV journalistic works on national unity awarded

(VOVworld) – Ninety seven outstanding pieces of journalism on national unity were given awards at a ceremony in Hanoi on Wednesday.

Radio Voice of Vietnam gained 9 awards, the highest number, with one first prize for a report highlighting farmers’ giving up farm land. Nguyen Thien Nhan, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, said that after 11 years the award for the cause of national unity had received a great response from reporters and news agencies.

In his address at the function, President Nhan said: “through these journalistic works, every citizen in Vietnam will remember the strength of national unity which will continue to help us overcome any new challenges. As a result, the lesson should be repeated via reports featuring practical outstanding examples, which should be duplicated by the mass media.
