(VOVworld) - The National Assembly is expected to pass amendments to the Health Insurance Law this month. The revision will be more lenient to the poor, as Minister of Health, Nguyen Thi Kim Tien, was speaking on a feature “people ask, minister answers” on Saturday. She said the Ministry of Health always prioritizes benefits of the poor: "Poor people and relatives of war martyrs will be exempted from 5% of the health insurance cost. This allowance also applies to near-poor people. Insurance policy holders will benefit from healthcare services at all levels from January 2016, especially poor people and those living in islands and extremely difficult areas will enjoy total free treatment.”
Minister Tien said the amendments aim to minimize administrative procedures and lure more insurance participants.
